Petite Yoga Pants for Women

Yoga is a great exercise for all body shapes and sizes. From plus sized to petite, yoga welcomes everyone with arms wide open. But no matter your size, it’s important to find clothes with a good fit. If you are quite small, that means finding the perfect petite yoga pants. Wearing the right pants is an important part of practicing yoga effectively, as the right fit will help to give you the comfort and flexibility you need.

Part of the reason people put so much effort into their search for the right petite yoga pants is that searching for the right pants is more difficult than finding a good yoga top. A petite woman can get by with regular jogging bras, tank tops, t-shirts, or really anything that keeps her covered to her desired level of modesty and comfort. Pants are another story, as there are more factors that contribute to the pants’ flexibility and comfort. Part of what makes the search for the perfect pants such a tricky business is the wide variety of body shapes and sizes; some women have slim hips but larger legs, others have wider hips but smaller waists. Petite women might find the search for an adequately small size to be a hassle, and getting something too large may leave you with pants that slip down too often.

Fortunately, there are a few rules that are helpful to keep in mind when looking for petite yoga pants. For example, it’s important to remember that while these pants normally come with smaller measurement around the waist area, you should never be tempted to buy before you try. Always try on the pants before buying them as the measurements can vary greatly depending on the brand or style, particularly in the upper thigh and hip areas. It’s also important to consider the length of the pants; some petite pants come in a regular length, while others are cut shorter.  Save yourself from a return to the store by trying the pants on before you buy.

Here are some other rules and ideas to consider when buying your petite yoga pants:

a.    Look for materials that can absorb sweat and allow your skin to breathe properly, so you do not end up feeling too hot.

b.    Be environmentally conscious by opting for pants made of organic materials. You may have to spend a few extra dollars this way, but the investment in quality and peace of mind is well worth it.

c.    Do a few stretches and poses in the pants before you buy them, to ensure that the pants are flexible and comfortable enough.
